Karisma Wright joins MCC basketball team

The Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team is looking to build their roster after losing seven sophomores this past season. Karisma Wright from Des Moines Roosevelt, has signed with the Tigers for the 2020 season.

Wright, a six-foot post, averaged six points per game and shot 47% from the field. She also averaged six rebounds per game and received Honorable Mention All-Conference honors and was named Team's Outstanding Leadership Award.

"Karisma will provide an inside presence on the boards, both on the offensive and defensive sides of the floor," commented MCC Head Basketball Coach Steve Garber. "With her openness to learn and grow, she will develop a scoring option for us as well.  She is able to move well on the floor which will also allow our defensive abilities to generate offensive opportunities."

Des Moines-Roosevelt was undefeated in conference this past season and finished with a 13-10 record.
