Chris Fuchsen

Assistant Coach Chris Fuchsen enters his 4th season with MCC soccer team. Coach Fuchsen took over as Interim Head Coach in 2017 when Head Coach Rafael Martinez took a leave of absence to care for his child. During that time, Fuchsen led the Tigers to a 7-3 record after going 6-0 to start the season.

In 2016, Fuchsen helped lead the Tigers to a 15-4-1 record, falling in the Regional Championship game. The Tigers finished with two All-Americans in Rafael Pereira and Fernando Gutierrez and earned 9 All-Region honorees.

2015 saw the Tigers finish with a 18-1-2 record, losing in the Region Championship game. Fuchsen help in the development of two All-American selections in goalkeeper Rafael Pereira and defender Fernando Gutierrez. The Tigers earned 11 All-Region sections in their regular season Region Championship season. Along with Coach Martinez, Coach Fuchsen helped the team earn its first NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honor in 2015, with the team earning an overall GPA of at least 3.0.

In 2014, Fuchsen’s first season with the team, the Tigers finished 13-7. The Tigers finished second in the ICCAC, going 8-4 in conference play. . Juan Carrillo earned NJCAA Third-Team All-American honors, becoming the first player in program history to earn All-American recognition in consecutive years. Eight members of the Tigers were named to the All-Region XI team. In addition, nine players earned All-Region XI Academic honors, including Carrillo who became the program's second Academic All-American.
