John Kubrak

Assistant Coach John Kubrak joined the MCC Men's Basketball staff Fall 2022 after two years with Boise State University Men’s Basketball. During John’s time with Boise State, the team had a combined record of 46-17. In his first year (20-21 season), Boise State finished with a record of 19-9 and ultimately fell in the Quarterfinals of the NIT Tournament. In Kubrak's second year with Boise State (21-22 season) the team finished with a record of 27-8, won the Mountain West Conference regular season and Conference Tournament Championships, and made the 2022 NCAA Tournament as an 8 Seed.  

Prior to Boise State, Kubrak was the Assistant Coach at Quakerdale Prep Men’s Basketball in New Providence, IA from 2018-2020. During that time, 20 student-athletes were awarded scholarships to play basketball at the next level.

Before his time at Quakerdale Prep, Kubrak was the Head JV Coach and student assistant for the varsity team at Grand View University in Des Moines, IA from 2016-2018. During Kubrak's time at Grand View, the team finished with a combined record of 39-23, and competed in the NAIA D1 Postseason Tournament during the 2016-17 season.

Kubrak graduated from Boise State University in 2022 with a Master’s of Athletic Leadership and from Grand View University in 2018 with Bachelor degrees in Secondary Education and History.

Kubrak lives with his wife Rachael and their dog Chloe.
