Tigers Fall to Falcons

The MCC baseball team hosted the Falcons of Indian Hills Community College in ICCAC doubleheaders at Shawn Williams Field on May 5th and 6th.  The Tigers were unable to pick up a win against their conference rival and currently sit at 8-32 on the season.

Game One: Lost 19-8

The Tigers played five solid innings before the Falcons poured it on in the sixth inning to walk off with the blowout. Entering the sixth inning the Tigers trailed 8-7 with Walter Hernandez on the mound. The Falcons lineup had no problem making contact with that ball in the sixth, scoring nine runs and added another in the seventh. The Tigers added a run the bottom of the sixth but would not be able to catchup, falling 19-8.

With a run plated in the sixth, PJ Maldonado Rodriguez retired the first three batters in the seventh inning to give the Tigers a chance in the final inning. With bases loaded the Tigers were unable to put the ball in play and dropped a heartbreaker 5-4.

Game Four: Lost 5-0

The Tigers' struggles at the plate continued in the final game of the series, recording only one hit the entire game.
