Marshalltown Community College Tigers handed the #20 Hawkeye Community College Redtails just their second loss of the season in the Saturday conference match up. MCC took a 2-1 win taking down the nationally ranked team.

MCC was first on the board with a goal at the 14:52 mark in the first half by freshman Haruto Mori with an assist by sophomore Yuki Fujita. The Tigers scored again in the first half at the 40:50 mark with a goal from freshman Haruya Higuchi, assisted by freshman Andres Guiterrez.

The Tigers held the Redtails scoreless until with just around nine minutes left in the game, Hawkeye would score to make the final score 2-1. Goalie for the Tigers, Mateusz Pass had two saves in the game. Penalties plagued both teams with the Redtails accumulating seven yellow cards and one red card. In comparison the Tigers had three yellow cards.

MCC will be on the road for their next game on Wednesday, Sept. 20 as they travel to #9 Southeastern Community College at 3:30 pm.
