Tiger women fight for win

The Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team fought for every point as they came out with a 65-64 win over Southeastern Community College Wednesday, Feb. 16.

MCC went point for point with Southeastern going into the half with a small 32-28 lead. The Blackhawks weren't going to go down easy though coming out and outscoring the Tigers 20-15 in the third quarter. The Tigers weren't going to let this one get away though and outscored the Blackhawks by just two points in the fourth quarter to pull off the 65-64 win.

MCC scoring was led by sophomore Waiaaria Rogers with 18 points. She was followed by Carolina Rodriguez Sanchez and Ianara Morbidoni who each had 12 points. Rodriguez Sanchez led both teams in rebounds with 12 completing a double-double and was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line.

MCC has just two regular season games left as they travel to Iowa Lakes on Saturday, Feb. 19 at 1 pm and host Ellsworth on Tuesday, Feb. 22 at 5:30 pm.
