Former Tiger earns softball honors

Marshalltown Community College alumni softball player, Aspyn Harrison, transferred to Iowa Wesleyan after her time at MCC and is already making an impact on the Tiger softball team. She earned Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) Pitcher of the Week.

The honor comes after Iowa Wesleyan's spring break trip last week. This is the first CAC award of her career.

Harrison three a complete game in 7 innings against Fairmont State University giving up 1 earned run on 4 hits and 3 walks with 9 strikeouts. In her second game of the week in the circle, she threw a complete game 5 innings giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits and 1 walk with 3 strikeouts. In the Tigers' third win of the week, Harrison threw a complete game 7 innings giving up 2 earned runs on 6 hits and 1 walk with 8 strikeouts.

Harrison totaled 24 innings only giving up 9 earned runs on 21 hits and 5 walks. She also struck out 21 batters on the week. She also threw 3 complete games during the week. Her record in the circle was 3-1 on the week.

Harrison attended MCC 2020-22.
