Roaring into Action: A Preview of MCC Tiger Women's Soccer

The Marshalltown Community College Women's Soccer program has started to prepare for the upcoming season. With five returning players from the 2022 season, the Tigers are continuing to build in just their second season ever.

Returners from the 2022 season include: Samantha Trowbridge of Marshalltown, IA; Manuela Correa of London, UK; Luisa Noroha of Brasilia, Brazil; Maria Leite of Sao Paulo, Brazil and Katy Velandia of Bogota, Colombia.

"These players are going to play a very important roll this season," commented MCC Head Coach Al Driscoll. "With a year of experience under them, they will be asked to lead the team on the upcoming season."

With the returning players heavily waited on the defensive side and the addition of Jaiden Williams, a keeper transfer from Bloomfield, NM, MCC should strengthen on the defensive end.

"This new group of players are going to set a standard of play that will help the program reach great heights in the future. We have a great group of players this season who understand the hill they are going to have to climb, but we feel it is just the right group to help turn things in the MCC women's soccer program.

Tiger women kickoff their season on the road as they travel to Bettendorf, IA to take on Scott Community College at 1 pm on Saturday, Aug. 26.
