Marshalltown Community College baseball players Josh Ironside and Clayton Slack have been named Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athletes of the Week for April 25 – May 1.  

Ironside, a sophomore pitcher, was instrumental in the Tigers 6-5 win over No. 9 ranked Kirkwood. He threw six of the seven innings, allowing six hits, giving up two walks and two earned runs. He struck out eight as MCC held on in the seventh to earn the win. It was Ironside's second win of the year.

Slack, a freshman shortstop, had a great week at the plate in four games for MCC. He had multi-hit games in five of the team's six games last week including three three-hit games and one four-hit game. In total he was 16 for 22 in the box (.727 avg.) His season numbers look like this: .426/.521/.594 slash line, one home run, 33 RBI and 51 runs scored. He has also swiped 16 bases.
