MCC baseball players earn All-Region Honors

Marshalltown Community College baseball is proud to announce that four players received DI Iowa Community College Athletic Association Conference (ICCAC) All-Region honors. Clayton Slack and Luke Pell received First Team All-Region and Sam Tyrpa and Ernsto Moreno Jr. received Second Team All-Region honors.

Slack, a freshman from Viroqua, WI, was one of the best hitters in the conference. He led the league in average with a .415 rate. He was first in hits (49) and runs (44) in conference play as well as total bases (74). Slack also received ICCAC Athlete of the Week April 25 – May 1.

Pell, a sophomore from Joliet, IL, hit .328 with 30 RBI and 31 runs scored. He walked 37 times this year and had an on-base in conference play over .500.

Redshirt sophomore, Tyrpa is from Minnetonka, MN. He started nine games for the Tigers and pitched 56.1 innings. He had 46 strikeouts and an 8.79 ERA.

Sophomore Moreno from Chicago, IL batted .303 for the season with 30 RBIs and 45 runs.
