MCC Cheer-Dance-Spirit Team to make season debut Saturday
Fans of Marshalltown Community College Athletics will receive an upgrade in the entertainment department at home men’s and women’s basketball games as the MCC Cheer-Dance-Spirit Team makes its debut Saturday night for the MCC vs. Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball game at 7:00 PM in the Student Activity Center.

Fans of Marshalltown Community College Athletics will receive an upgrade in the entertainment department at home men’s and women’s basketball games as the MCC Cheer-Dance-Spirit Team makes its season debut Saturday night for the MCC vs. Ellsworth Community College men’s basketball game at 7:00 PM in the Student Activity Center.
“The team has been working very hard in the last couple of months to prepare for our debut,” said head coach Tanya Sommerlot. “We have been practicing bleacher routines to motivate the crows, polishing our halftime routines, and perfecting cheers to show our school spirit.”
The team will engage fans in all aspects, from in-game cheers to dance performances over the course of timeouts and during halftime.
“In a short amount of time,” Sommerlot continued, “we have accomplished a lot and we are looking forward to a fun night as support the men’s basketball team. We encourage the community to bring out their families for a fun-filled night of basketball, music, and entertainment. The team is very excited about their debut, and are ready to cheer on the Tigers.”
While Saturday’s performance marks its debut, the team will have multiple performances throughout the remainder of the year. The team will make its off-campus debut with a performance at the Iowa Wild Hockey game at 7:00 PM on Jan. 16 as part of MCC Night. The team will also host a youth dance/cheer camp on Jan. 23 and will perform for both home basketball games that night. To register your child for the camp, visit: CAMP REGISTRATION
