Dominant performance move Tigers to 7-1

Monday afternoon the Tiger men's soccer team hosted the Mt. Mercy University JV soccer team. In a wet and rainy afternoon, the Tigers dominated the pitch from start to finish. Kino Ryosuke had another spectacular day on the field recording three goals and two assist.

It only took six minutes for the Tigers to find the net when Kino Ryosuke scored with an assist from Leonardo Tomasi. After only a few minutes of play Ryosuke found the net again, this time assisted by Bruno Osorio. The fast-paced Tigers consistently pushed the ball up the field when in the twenty-third minute Ryosuke was involved in another goal but this time it was his turn to assist Rafael Vacaas for the goal. David Kromah was able to add a goal to his resume in the twenty- eight minute when he found the net with another Ryosuke assist. Ryosuke wasn't finished yet, with two goals and two assist on the day he found the goal a third time in the thirtieth minute with an assist from Roger De la Villa.  Just before half time, the Tigers struck again, this time Eneko Lasheras was able to make a run from his mid fielder position to score. The Tigers lead 6-0 going into half.

In a second half that was cut short by rain, the Tigers were able to score two more goals. Andre Luis found the net for the Tigers off an assist from Roger De la Villa. In the final minutes prior to the rain stoppage, Pedro Oscar was able to score with an assist from Breno Scomparim. In the seventy minutes of play goalkeeper Juan Gonzalez played fifty-eight and recorded three saves while giving up one goal. Reserve goalkeeper Joel Serrano was able to see the field for the first time this year, playing the final twelve minutes of the game.

"Yeah this was a dominate team performance," stated coach Chris Fuchsen, "we were able to control the game through keeping possession and quickly applying intense pressure when the ball was lost and we finished the chances we created by moving the ball quickly."

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday when they host the Red Tails of Hawkeye Community College. The Tigers defeated the Red Tails 5-1 in their first game and will look to replicate that success on Saturday. The Tigers are now 7-1 on the season and hope to maintain their 11th ranked position after falling to the Lakers of Iowa Lakes Community College last weekend.
