Second half comeback falls short

The MCC Tiger Women's Basketball team (8-15, 3-7) made a strong push in the second half to come within 5 points with four minutes remaining, but strong shooting from the charity strike by the Pirates would keep the Tigers from getting any closer falling 78-62.

Sophomore forward Mady Van Metre (Marshalltown, IA) once again led the Tigers offensively, scoring a team and season high 26 points. Sophomore Shakeria Slade (Milwaukee, WI) put up 11 points of her own, and collected 6 rebounds for the Tigers. Freshman Ashley Salgado (Ottumwa, IA) led the Tigers on the glass with 9 boards.

The Tigers will return home playing their second of three games this week, as they face conference opponent Iowa Central Community College on Wednesday. Game time against the Tritons is scheduled for 5:00 pm, with a men's game to follow.
