My name is Reyna Edwards! I am from Ferris, TX, located 10 minutes south of Dallas. I am a biology major and will be furthering my academic career at a university. I plan to own and operate a private practice in a specialty that I find valuable to myself and those around me through healthcare.

I come from an interracial family, where my mother is Hispanic, and my dad is African American. Growing up with so much diversity in the house was truly a blessing and an eye opener to see how different cultures can be from another.

Back home in Texas I raised cattle, pigs and lambs. I was a livestock showman and got to haul animals all across Texas county lines to show off all my hard work of raising those animals. If you ever visited the State Fair of Texas it’s a good chance you walked right pass me in the cattle barn! Many trips across Texas I found myself watching Grey’s Anatomy series or Princess and the Frog. If I’m not watching that I’m listening to my favorite artist Ms. Lauryn Hill.

Now I am here at MCC and super blessed to apart of this family. I chose to come here to prepare me for my academic career and to play the great game of Basketball with an amazing group of girls. Here at MCC there is never a dull day on the Women’s Basketball team, there’s always hard work, motivation, and laughs every single day in that gym. As an athlete here at MCC, I pray I grow wiser in my game. Meaning believing myself and pushing myself to be a better me than the day before. Without God none of this is possible, and I’m super blessed to be able to play this sport with such supporting coaches and sister like teammates.
