Tigers struggle at home vs Iowa Lakes

Marshalltown Community College hosted their last game before holiday break on Wednesday, Dec. 11, hosting Iowa Lakes in a doubleheader. The men's and women's team both suffered losses for the night. 

The MCC women opened the night with a 67-49 loss to the Lakers. MCC struggled from the field shooting just a little aver 27%. Carla Collado and Laurin Lyons were the only Tigers in double figured with Collado leading with 17 followed by Lyons with 13. Lyons also led the team in rebounding with nine.

The Tiger women will resume play on Tuesday, Jan. 7 when they host Graceland University JV at 6 pm.

MCC men had the upper hand by two going into half against Iowa Lakes lead 38-36 but struggled early in the second half going down by as many as 20 points. They fought back but, in the end, couldn't come out with the winning, falling 88-77 to the Lakers. 

Three Tigers were in double figures for the men. Jaylin Scott led the team with 23 points followed by Caleb Jacobs with 17 and Eric Amandio with 14. Amandio also had seven rebounds and Jacobs had six.

MCC men will finish off the first half of the season with three games at the William Bear Tournament in Freeport, IL this weekend.
