The Marshalltown Community College men's basketball team came out hot in Saturday's 74-60 win over Sauk Valley. The Tigers outscored Sauk Valley 44-26 in the first half.

The Hawks would not go down easy coming back to outscore the Tigers 34-30 in the second half but it wasn't enough to take down the Tigers in the end. MCC had three players score in double figures with Zion Obanla leading the way with 22 followed by Treg Sinegal with 14 and Gedeon Shango with 12.

MCC out rebounded the Hawks 39-28 with Obanla and Shango each contributing 9 rebounds. One of the biggest factors in the Tiger's win was at the free throw line. MCC shot just over 81% while Sauk Valley shot only 47%.

MCC will be back on the court tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 6 as they host Mount Mercy College JV at 7 pm.
