Tigers start conference play

Tiger men took it down to the last shot in their first conference game of the season on Saturday as they traveled to Southeastern Community College. When a last second shot to tie up the game by the Tigers fell short, the Blackhawks took the win 56-58.

In the back-and-forth game, the two teams seemed to be pretty well matched as the Tigers were outscored by just one going into the half down 31-32. Turnovers plagued both teams with the Tigers having 19 and the Blackhawks with 14.

Trey Sinegal led MCC in scoring with 15 points for the night followed by Zion Obania with 12 and Gedeon Shango with 11. Sinegal and Obania each had 8 boards to lead the Tigers in rebounding. Scoring for the Tigers was rounded out by Tyler Burrows (7), Joey Tollefson (6), Or Sundjvsky (3) and Mekki Sisk (2).

MCC will host Central College JV in a non-conference match up on Monday, Jan. 23 at 6 pm returning to conference play on Wednesday, Jan. 25 as they travel to Indian Hills Community College for a 7 pm tip off.
