Hot bats for Tiger softball

In Marshalltown Community College Softball's doubleheader on Wednesday, as they hosted Clarke University JV, the bats were hot for the Tigers as they swept 10-5 and 10-0.

With three homeruns in the first game, the Tigers were able to take the win 10-5. Paige Westlin led the Tigers at the plate with a triple, a homerun and three RBI. Jada Walton and Kimberly Rodriguez each had a homerun and an RBI. Alexia Jarett had a double and two RBI. Grace Scott contributed with two RBI and Ilajay Tromp had an RBI.

Rodriguez had the win on the mound for MCC. She allowed just five runs all earned, four walks and two strikeouts.

Game two was all Tigers. Lexis Smith held Clarke to just two hits on the mound. She faced twenty-four batters for the win in six innings.

MCC had five homeruns in the game. Jarett and Rodriguez with two apiece and Westlin with one. Rodriguez led in RBI with five followed by Jarett with three and Westlin with two. Smith added a double to the Tiger offense.

MCC will have a break for the rest of the week returning home on Tuesday, April 16 to host Kirkwood at 2 and 4 pm.
