Esports and Women’s Soccer coming to MCC Fall 2022

Marshalltown Community College athletics is excited to add Women's Soccer and Esports for both men and women starting Fall 2022.

"Although it is a fast turnaround for implementation, we are anticipating a minimum of 20 student-athletes on the soccer team and 15 student-athletes on the Esports team with annual growth over the following three years increase to a capacity of 70 athletes," commented MCC Provost Robin Lilienthal.

"Athletic Director, John Kriebs, provided excellent leadership in researching possible sports, identifying the best programs to add to meet student's interest which serve as enrollment drivers, and ensuring compatibility with our current offerings and infrastructure; and then developing the proposals for the board."

MCC has been working throughout the last year on the new state of the art technology for the Esports arena and the new facilities will be ready for the new Esports Fall 2022 season.
