Marshalltown Community College baseball's, Carter Schellsmidt, has been named Division II Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week for the week of March 3-9.
Sophomore catcher, Schellsmidt, had an outstanding week at the plate, going 8-for-13 over four games and belting three home runs.
In addition to his power, he also racked up three doubles, one triple, 15 RBI, seven runs, and two walks. His performance was remarkably consistent, driving in 4 RBI in three of the games and 3 RBI in the other.
The home runs came across three different games, showcasing his ability to produce in various situations. Schellsmidt's all-around effort played a key role in the Tigers' perfect 4-0 week, boosting their record to 5-3 on the season.
The Tigers will be on the road for a series against Kansas Wesleyan University March 12 and 13th.
