Amber Lawthers has kicked off the Marshalltown Community College Esports debut year with a bang. She has now worked her way to National Champion in Mario Kart 8 DX!

The MCC Esports Arena has been packed to cheer on Lawthers' in her quest for number one in the nation. She went 4-1 in the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. In the Final 4 she faced the defending Champions, Lorain County Community College in Ohio. She came from behind to win this match up 4-3.

She then went 4-0 in the National Championship title match up against Missouri State University – West Plains.
