MCC Women's Soccer falls 6-1

The Marshalltown Community College women's soccer team suffered a 6-1 defeat against Northwest Iowa Community College on Saturday, Sept. 21. Despite playing with only nine players, the Tigers showed resilience and managed to find the net early on.

Manoella Santos opened the scoring for MCC in the 7th minute with a well-converted penalty kick. However, Northwest proved to be a formidable opponent, dominating the match and eventually pulling away with a comfortable victory.

Gio De Carvalho Da Silva Damiano, the MCC goalkeeper, made 14 saves during the game, showcasing her determination and effort to keep her team in the contest.

MCC will look to bounce back as they host Southeastern Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 pm. They will then travel to Norfolk State College on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 3:30 pm.
