Eicher's lone goal not enough as Tigers fall to Southeastern

Marshalltown Community College women's soccer suffered a tough 10-1 defeat to Southeastern Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 25. The Tigers fought hard but were unable to overcome a dominant first half performance from the Blackhawks.

Southeastern controlled the tempo early, building a 7-0 lead by halftime. The Tigers' defense struggled to contain the Blackhawks' relentless attack, and the visitors capitalized on their chances.

The lone goal for MCC came in the 47th minute when Tasia Eicher scored a solo goal. Receiving the ball around midfield, Eicher took a touch to play the ball beyond the defensive line and outran the defenders to beat the goalkeeper.

Goalkeeper Giovanna de Carlvalho Da Silva Damiano made 13 saves in the game. Southeastern outshot MCC 28-5.

The Tigers will travel to take on the 7th-ranked Northeast Community College in Norfolk on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 3:30 pm.
