The MBB rematch with Indian Hills looked a lot like the first contest between the two teams. On Saturday, February 2, the Tigers traveled to Ottumwa, IA to take on the Warriors. The Tigers were looking to pick up their first conference win of the season and avenge their January, 16 loss. Meanwhile, the Warriors were looking to stay unbeaten in ICCAC play.
The first half of Saturday's contest closely resembled the first half of the January, 16 contest. Both teams played well defensively and kept the half low scoring. On January, 16, the Tigers went to the locker room up by one at half. On Saturday, it was tied 36-36 with both teams trying to find a way to make a run in the second half.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, it was Indian Hills who was able to again come up with the formula to win the second half. While both teams played better offensively, it was the home team who was able to outscore the Tigers 58-46 over the final 20 minutes to claim a 94-82 victory.
Tomas Woldetensae and Torrey Patton did much of the damage for the Warriors as they contributed 23 and 24 points respectively. For the Tigers, Kelton Edwards led the way with 24 points. Edwards continues to lead the ICCAC in scoring on the season. The Tigers had three other players register double-figures in the contest and redshirt sophomore, Juan Coffi, led the way on the glass with eight rebounds.
The loss for the Tigers moved them to 11-13 on the season, 0-5 in conference and losers of five straight. The Tigers will look to right the ship at home on Wednesday, February 6 when they host Graceland JV.
