The National Junior College Athletic Association has named sophomore guard Kelton Edwards to its Honorable Mention Team. The Houston, TX native scored 571 points this season while shooting 45.8% from the field, 36.6% from the arch and 81% from the line. Edwards led the conference in points and points per game, as well as field goals (227 for 496).
In addition to his outstanding offensive numbers, he also pulled in 4.7 boards from the glass, and averaged 1.1 assists through 30 games. Edwards was also a fixture on the court, averaging 29 points per game.
Edwards becomes only the 6th Tiger Men's Basketball player to earn the elite All-American distinction. He joins Mohamed Thiam (2018), Tyler Brown (2010, 2011), Jacob Jaacks (1998), Deandre Harris (1996), and Tony Maroney (1993).
