Former Marshalltown Community College men's soccer player Javier Lopez has been named to the All-Sunshine State Conference (SSC) Second-Team. Lopez led the Fighting Knights to the SSC Championship game.

Lopez was one of a school-record five players selected to the all-conference team. The junior helped lead a stingy defense as the Fighting Knights posted six shutouts to go along with a 0.50 goals against average and just four total goals allowed in conference play.

Lopez also was a factor on the offensive end of the field, scoring five goals, including one game-winner and tallying one assist for 11 points on the year.

Lopez was a member of the Tigers from 2011-2012 where he earned NJCAA and NSCAA All-American and Academic All-American honors.
