Tiger soccer prepares for 2022 season

The 2022 Marshalltown Community College Men's Soccer season is just a couple of weeks away from their first match.

Under the guidance of third season Head Men's Soccer Coach, Raphael Nascimento, the Tigers return ten players from last season and will be adding seventeen newcomers to the roster. MCC had a 7-6-1 record last season and looks to build on that going into the new year.

"Our goal is to form better student-athletes on the field and in the classroom," commented Nascimento. "We want to make sure to show them how important it is to have good grades and be a better person daily. The results on the field are just as important as the results in the classroom."

The Tigers' first home match-up will be Wednesday, August 31 at 1 pm as they host Scott Community College. MCC expects to be a very competitive team this year and compete head-to-head in the conference. "The ICCAC (Iowa Community College Athletic Conference) is one of the most competitive conferences in the country."

Nascimento is joined on the Men's Soccer Coaching staff by Associate Head Coach, Francisco Fernandes and former MCC player and now Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach, Rainer Hauss Pires.
