Freshman Kayla Prosser (Eldora, IA/South Hardin) of the Marshalltown Community College volleyball team has been named to the All-Region XI First-Team. The outside hitter led the Tigers in seven different statistical categories.
Prosser ranked near the top of the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) in multiple categories as well throughout the year. The freshman led the conference with 82 service aces, which ranked second in the nation. Her 0.55 service aces per set also led the conference and was good enough for eighth nationally.
Prosser recorded 471 kills which were second among all ICCAC participants while her 3.14 kills per set were also second.
Prosser registered 25 matches with double-digit kill totals, with a career-high 20 coming against Indian Hills Community College on Oct. 14. The freshman also added 11 double-doubles (kills and digs) on the year.
The Tigers finished 17-25 in the regular season and will travel to Mattoon, IL this weekend for the District D Tournament. MCC will face John A. Logan College at 1:00 PM on Friday in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament.
