36 Tigers Land on All-Region Academic Teams

2017 Spring Academic All-Region Team

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) has announced its Academic All-Region teams for the spring semester, and Marshalltown Community College was well represented. 36 student-athletes, including 20 first-team honorees, across four sports earned recognition from the region for their success in the classroom.

Academic All-Region requirements consist of maintaining a grade point average of 3.5 or better for first-team honors and a grade point average between 3.0 and 3.49 for second-team honors.

The MCC baseball team placed 16 players on the team, including seven first-team selections. The softball team had eight members of the team earn academic honors, with five on the first-team. The men's basketball team had nine members named to the Academic All-Region team with four members on the first-team while the women's basketball team had four first-team selections.

1st Team

Baseball: Cole Baker, JJ Stephens, Joe Monosmith, John Magnuson, Jose Mieses, Max McCay, Rafael Puente

Softball: Courtney Fudge, Jordan Carter, Paige Taylor, Shaena Robinson, Taylor Tague

Men's Basketball: Aaron Hauser, Berk Karadan, Danny Mozee, Juan Coffi

Women's Basketball: Barbara Araoz, Claudia Morente, Ryan Roberts, Sarah Kavanh

2nd Team

Baseball: Adam Barrett, Adam Kerkove, Greg Glass, Hot Hunziker, Jake Brumbaugh, Marving Serrano, Noel Diaz, Snayder Ruiz, Tony Salato
