Women's basketball falls in Region XI Tournament at Northeast

Norfolk, NE—JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) finished her career with her 13th career 20-point game, but the Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team's season came to a close on Wednesday night, falling to No. 2 seed Northeast Community College 79-47 in the Region XI Tournament.

Hiraldo closed out her two-year campaign at MCC with 778 career points which ranks third-most in the program over the last 14 seasons. The sophomore also grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, giving her 466 total rebounds, fourth-most in the program during the same span.

Victoria Pothast (Melbourne, IA/West Marshall) added nine points for the Tigers while Barbara Araoz (Neuquen, Argentina/Maria Auxiliadota) scored eight points and dished out seven assists.

MCC outscored the Hawks 35-33 in the final two quarters, but a slow first half did the Tigers in, ending the team's season.
