Gonnerman earns second ICCAC Pitcher of the Week honor

For the second time in three weeks, sophomore Kolton Gonnerman (Centerville, IA/Centerville) of the Marshalltown Community College Baseball team has been tabbed as the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Pitcher of the Week.

Gonnerman posted a pair of wins last week for the Tigers (13-7), allowing just one earned run along the way. Gonnerman extended his scoreless innings streak to 15.2 before allowing a run on Sunday against Southwestern Community College.

In a 6-0 win over Westchester Community College on March 14, Gonnerman tossed six innings of scoreless ball while striking out a career-high nine batters and not issuing a walk. Gonnerman won his third-straight start in a 6-1 win over Southwestern on March 20. The sophomore spun six innings with six strikeouts and just four hits allowed.

Gonnerman's season earned run average currently sits at a conference-best 1.71 on the year with a 3-0 record. The sophomore's 26 strikeouts on the season rank third in the league.

MCC returns to play on March 29 at home against North Iowa Area Community College.
