NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll

Despite a mid-week hiccup, the Marshalltown Community College men's soccer team remained in the top 10 of the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll as the Tigers entered this week at No. 9.

MCC (10-2-1/9-2-1) suffered just its second loss of the season on Wednesday afternoon, a 4-0 defeat to Iowa Lakes Community College at home. MCC was able to bounce back on Saturday afternoon to drop Indian Hills Community College 2-0 to avenge an earlier loss to the Warriors.

Freshman David Kromah (Brooklyn Park, MN/Prairie Seesd) and sophomore Artur Aguiar (Fortaleza, Brazil/7 de Setembro) each scored for the Tigers in Saturday's win while sophomore Rafael Pereira (Lisbon, Portugal/Escola Secundaria Vergilio Ferreira) stopped three shots to earn the shutout.

Iowa Lakes (11-3-0/10-3-0) was rewarded with a spot in this week's top-20 after earning the conference win over MCC, moving up to No. 18 in the poll. Iowa Western Community College, who sits one game ahead of the Tigers in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) standings, moved up one spot to No. 3. Tyler Junior College held on to its No. 1 ranking while Monroe College remained at No. 2.

MCC is back in action on Wednesday afternoon as the Tigers travel to Scott Community College for a 4:00 PM match.
