MARSHALLTOWN – Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball, Shenell Stewart, has been named Division II Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week for the week of November 11-17.

Stewart averaged 13.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.8 steals per game this past week. In four games, she racked up an impressive tally of points and other stats. She also played a crucial role in helping the Tigers to win three of their four games.

Through the opening stretch of the season, Stewart leads the Tigers in points per game (13.9), rebounds per game (6.6) and steals per game (3.1).

This MCC team has already broken their win tally from last season with five wins. Not only have they broken their tally from last year, but they have a 5-1 record and with talented players like Stewart, it seems like a great season brewing.

The Tigers are scheduled to be at home this for their next game as they host Carl Sandburg College on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 5:30 pm.
