The MCC volleyball team got off to a tough start on Saturday morning when they took on Kirkwood. Kirkwood defeated the Tigers in straight sets 15-25, 7-25, and 23-25. The second match of the day also did not fare well as the Tigers fell in straight sets to Northeast Community College, 12-25, 12-25, and 16-25.

After a frustrating weekend head coach, Justin Hoskins stated, "Hopefully we can use this weekend as a learning experience. We have enough talent to play with good teams, but we are struggling to put full matches together. If we straighten out what needs to be improved on, we'll look back on this weekend as a positive experience that helped our team grow and move forward."

The Tigers move to 7-3 on the season as they are set to take on Iowa Western on Tuesday September 5.
