The MCC volleyball team added another member to the 2018 roster as Jamie Shadden has committed to playing for the Tigers next season. The 5'11 outside hitter from Westminister, Colorado played at Belleview Christian High School and for Dive Volleyball Club out of Denver, Colorado. Shadden visited campus last week and decided MCC was the school for her.

"I really enjoy the smaller class sizes, and coach Hoskins seems pretty awesome," stated Shadden during her visit.

The versatile hitter played multiple sports in high school, competing in volleyball, basketball, soccer and cheer. In her freshmen season on the basketball team, she earned 2^nd Team All-League honors before earning 1^st Team All-League honors as a sophomore. She showed the same dominance on the volleyball court earning 1^st Team All-League twice as well as the All-League Player of the Year Award and capping her senior year off with an All-State honor for her role as an outside hitter.

"Jamie is going to be a great addition to Tiger Volleyball," stated Head Coach Justin Hoskins. "She is a young lady who loves the game of volleyball and has dedicated herself to becoming a terrific player. She is versatile enough to play a variety of positions and make an impact anywhere that she plays. I anticipate her coming in and immediately helping to provide some balance to our offensive attack. In addition to being an impact player, Jamie is also a great young lady who has a good head on her shoulders and is a person of high character."

Jamie is the daughter of Brandy Slaton, John Slayton, and James Adkins. She has four siblings, Brandon, John, Sage, and April.
