Freshman Rafael Pereira (Lisbon, Portugal/Escola Secundaria Vergilio Ferreira) capped off a remarkable regular season with his fourth Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Goalie of the Week honor. Pereira and the Tigers closed out the regular season with an unbeaten 16-0-2 record and the ICCAC Championship.
With the program's first-ever unbeaten season, the Tigers earned the top-seed in the upcoming Region XI Men's Soccer Tournament and will face ninth-seeded Dakota County Technical College at 3:00 PM on Wednesday.
Pereira closed out the regular season in convincing fashion, posting his ninth complete game shutout of the year, tied for the most in the nation, with a 2-0 win over North Iowa Area Community College at home on Saturday.
Earlier in the week Pereira led the Tigers to a 3-1 win at Iowa Lakes Community College, stopping five shots in the victory.
Pereira also earned ICCAC Goalie of the Week honors on Oct. 20, Sept. 15, and Sept. 8.
