Freshman Shaena Robinson (Gardnerville, NV/Douglas) of the Marshalltown Community College softball team has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Division I Softball Player of the Week for the week ending April 16.

Robinson helped lead MCC to four wins last week with a .700 batting average. Robinson collected a total of seven hits as MCC topped both Mount Mercy JV and Central Community College twice.

Over the four-game stretch, Robinson scored eight runs and drove in six more. The freshman added three doubles and connected on a home run in each game against Central.

Robinson currently leads the ICCAC with a .500 batting average, a .553 on base percentage, and a 1.055 slugging percentage along with a league-best 16 home runs.

After splitting a pair of games on Tuesday afternoon at Doane JV, MCC travels to Southeastern Community College for an ICCAC doubleheader at 2:00 PM Wednesday afternoon.
