MCC Lands 39 on Fall Academic All-Region Teams

The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference has released the names of the Fall Academic All-Region honorees. Marshalltown Community College had 39 student athletes earn Academic All-Region honors with 16 First Team members and 23 Second Team members. To earn a spot on the First Team the student athletes needed to earn a 3.5-4.0 GPA while a Second Team section needed to earn a 3.0-3.49 GPA. The MCC men's soccer team had the most student athletes selected, out of MCC's four eligible sports, with 20 total selections.

"Academics is something we emphasize highly here at MCC, I'm glad to see so many of our student athletes being recognized for their achievements in the classroom," stated MCC Athletic Director Kathleen Brown. "During the recruitment process we always stress with potential student athletes and their families that they will be going professional in something other than their sport so it's great to see them setting themselves up for success in their futures by excelling in the classroom."

Below are the student athletes that made the first or second team separated by sport.
