Pablo Martinez Night Feb 10

Pablo Martinez Night Feb 10

On Saturday, February 10, Marshalltown Community College will hold a childhood leukemia event and fundraiser for Pablo Martinez, son of Head Soccer Coach Rafael Martinez. The event will coincide with the men's and women's basketball double header starting at 5:00PM in the Student Activity Center. The women will be taking on Black Hawk College-Moline and the men will square off against the Warriors of in-conference rival, Indian Hills.

In September of 2017, Pablo was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and has been receiving treatment at Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines since his diagnosis. Pablo's father, Rafael Martinez, has been involved with the MCC Men's Soccer Program for over 10 years, the past 7 years serving as the Head Coach. Donations to support Pablo and his family will be accepted at the game. In addition, a 50/50 raffle will be available for attendees with half of the pot going to the Martinez family and half going to the winner of the drawing. Please note, that there will be a $10.00 entry fee for the games with half of the proceeds going directly to the Martinez Family. Contributions can also be made at the official YouCaring site: http://www.youcaring.com/rafaandashleymartinezfamily-958933

We encourage all attendees to show their support of childhood leukemia awareness by wearing orange to the games and to use the hashtag  #nopablemo on twitter and other social media outlets. Orange "Team Pablo" shirts will also be available for purchase before and during the games.
