The Marshalltown Community College Athletic Department hosted the 49th annual Tiger Days Golf Outing on Thursday, Sept. 8 at Elmwood Country Club. The department was pleased to see another great turnout from the local community.

Keeping with tradition of the annual rotation of golf courses, Tiger Days was held in Marshalltown at the Elmwood Country Club.

"The 49th annual Tiger Days Golf Outing was a great for us as an athletic department," stated MCC Director of Athletics Dr. Kathleen Brown. "We had an excellent turnout of 116 golfers this year who enjoyed the awesome course and hospitality of Elmwood Country Club. Tiger Days provides a great opportunity for fans of Tiger athletics to interact with our student-athletes, and for our student-athletes to meet the people that support them both with financial resources as well as game attendance."

"I personally would like to thank everyone who golfed, helped at the event, financially supported the event through sponsorship, and Elmwood Country Club for making the 49th annual Tiger Days a success."

Participants had the opportunity to engage in conversation along with multiple activities scattered throughout the course with MCC student-athletes. Events included a soccer ball drive, volleyball spike contest, and a free-throw shootout on select holes.

MCC Baseball sophomore Austin Little, a native of Knoxville, IA was glad to have the opportunity to get to know Tiger athletic supporters. "For the second year in a row I was able to get out and talk with the people that support us so much throughout our careers here at MCC," Little stated. "To get to know them on a personal level means a lot because of the support they provide for us. Being able to see them in the stands at our games is one thing, but to interact with them at Tiger Days means a lot to us as well."

Barbara Araoz, a sophomore on the MCC Women's Basketball team and native of Neuquen, Argentina took part in multiple activities with the golfers throughout the day. "To have the chance to thank our supporters personally means a lot to us," Araoz said. "It was very nice to see the people that contribute to our athletic programs and interact with them at Tiger Days."

Next year's 50th annual Tiger Days will be held at the American Legion Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 7.
