Norfolk, NE—The Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team fell on the road to Northeast Community College on Saturday, dropping the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) contest 102-46.
The Tigers (9-12/0-2) faced the nation's top-shooting team in Northeast (20-1/1-0) on Saturday, and the Hawks proved why. Northeast shot 64.7 percent from the floor, including 46.7 percent from three-point range in the win. MCC shot just 23.3 percent overall.
Alyssa Roth (Clinton, IA/Northeast) led the Tigers with nine points on the night followed by eight points from Kiana Weston (Skokie, IL/Niles North). Dalia Cantu (Monterrey, Mexico/ITESM Eugenio Garza La Guera) added seven points and Loralei Siliga (Euless, TX/San Leandro) chipped in six.
The Tigers travel to William Penn JV for a 6:00 PM matchup on Feb. 1.
