Loralei Siliga Signs with MACU

Marshalltown Community College's Loralei Siliga will be taking her talents to Oklahoma next year as she recently signed to continue her career at Mid America Christian University (MACU). The 5'10 forward was a dominant force for the Tigers the last two years, averaging just under twelve points a game as a freshman before going off for 17.7 points per game as a sophomore. Siliga was very appreciative of her coach and the staff at MCC stating, "I want to thank Coach Garber and everyone here at MCC that have helped me get to this point. I wouldn't be able to continue my playing career without their support these last two years."

Siliga has been an efficient shooter both years as a Tiger, shooting 44% from the field and 33% from beyond the arc, on her way to collecting 834 career points. Siliga's 206 rebounds this season led the Tigers. She also contributed 28 steals. In her sophomore year she earned ICCAC Player of the Week honors three times and was named 1st Team All-Region.

"Over the last two years, Lei has developed significantly in her basketball skills to put her in the position she is now," stated Head Coach Steve Garber. "She has developed and is on to the next level, having obtained a full scholarship to play basketball all while earning a degree here at MCC. We are proud to have been a part of her development and wish Lei continued success at MACU."

Mid America Christian University in a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) and competes at the Division I level. Head Coach Hannah Moeller has her teams playing at a high level and it shows. Prior to moving to MACU, Moeller coached at Hillside Free Will Baptist College where she won two National Championships and was named 2016 NCCAA National Coach of the Year. In her first season at the helm of MACU, the Lady Evangels made it to the Final Four of the National Tournament. This past season, MACU defeated Concordia University 71-60 to win the NCCAA National Championship.

"I'm extremely excited to have the opportunity to play at Mid America Christian University, where I believe I can excel on the court and earn my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology," stated Siliga. "I think Coach Moeller and her staff have a solid program and I hope to contribute to their success."
