MCC women finish regular season

The 2019-20 regular season has come to an end for Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team. MCC hosted two home games this past week, falling to Grand View JV 84-56 on Monday, Feb. 17 and coming up short 79-66 to Southeastern Community College on Sophomore night, Saturday, Feb. 22.

Monday night the Tigers could only hit 3 of 19 from the 3-point line to tally 56 points. Leading scorers for the Tigers were Dana Stokes with 22 and Laurin Lyons with 14.

Saturday was very similar in shooting percentages as MCC only shot 22% from beyond the arc and 57% from the free throw line. Freshman guard, coming off the bench, was Rachele Smith who led the Tigers with 13 points. Lyons contributed 12 points.

The MCC Tigers begin Regional play at Norfolk, NE Wednesday, Feb. 26 playing Northeast Community College at 5 pm.
