The Iowa Community College Athletic Conference has named Mohamed Thiam as the Division I Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week for November 13-19th. Thiam and the Tiger men's basketball team competed twice that week, defeating William Penn JV and Highland Community College. During those two games, Thiam scored 50 points and grabbed 25 rebounds.
"Mohamed has been great this season," stated Head Coach Brynjar Brynjarsson. "He is averaging a double double so far this season so we expect a lot from him and he continues to do his job every game. Mo has that ability to take over games when needed but he is also a team guy which makes him even more valuable."
Nine games into the season Thiam is averaging 20.1 points per game and grabbing 10 rebounds a game. He is currently 47.7% from the field and 36.8% from behind the three-point line. Thiam and the rest of the men's basketball team will be in action Wednesday when they travel to Cedar Rapids to take on Kirkwood Community College.
