Marshalltown Community College's Kelton Edwards has been named the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference's Athlete of the Week for his play from February 12-18. The Tigers only played one game in that span, defeating Mount Mercy Universities JV squad 86-47. Edwards was perfect on the floor, shooting 8-8 from the field, 3-3 from the three-point arc, and 1-1 from the free throw line for 20 points.
"Kelton has been a great addition to the team and he has made an impact coming off the bench all season," stated Head Coach Brynjar Brynjarsson. "Kelton is a great athlete and he has done well adjusting to his role this season, we will count on him these next few weeks to help us advance through tournament time."
Edwards and the rest of the Tigers will be back on the court Friday, when they team travels to Norfolk, Nebraska to take on conference rival Northeast Community College in their final regular season game of the season. The Hawks are currently 13-15 and 0-7 in the conference. The two teams will play again on Monday, February 26 in the first round of the Region XI Tournament.
