The Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball team started off the season with a convincing win over the Southeastern Blackhawks at home to get the Tiger's off to a 1-0 start to the season.

The Tiger Women led the game from the start and would eventually pull away late in the fourth quarter to give the Tigers the win. The Tigers were led by Waiaaria Rogers who dropped 18 off the bench in her Tiger debut while shooting 4 of 7 from the 3-point line and chipping in 5 rebounds as well. The Tigers also got strong contributions from Eva Zaragoza who added a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds to hold down the middle for the Tigers.
