Former Tiger Basketball All-American named Midwest Conference top 100

Former Marshalltown Community College Women's Basketball All-American Missy Sharer was named as a Midwest Conference Top 100 Honoree, for her time at Grinnell College.

She started her career at Marshalltown where she was named a Junior College All-American during the 1988-1989 season.

After leaving Marshalltown, Sharer went on to have a stellar career at the NCAA Division III level, rewriting both the Grinnell and Midwest Conference record books. Sharer holds Division III records for points in a game with 50, points in a season with 794 in 1990-91, points per game in a season and career, field goals made and attempted in a season with 272 and 604 in 1990-91, free throws made and attempted in a season with 217 and 257 in 1990-91 and 3-point percentage for a career at 47.8 percent. She also still holds 12 program records at Grinnell College.

Sharer was named an inductee to the Grinnell Athletics Hall of Fame in 1998 and is the only Pioneer women's basketball player to earn All-America honors.

MCC would like to congratulate Sharer on this accomplishment and thank her for her time at MCC.
