Tigers Control Waubonsee

A pair of goals was enough for the Tigers to claim a 2-0 victory over Waubonsee when the two teams faced off on August 31.

The Tigers controlled the ball and the match for much of the 90 minutes. While the Tigers seemed to constantly be pressuring the visitors defense and goalie, just two goals separated the two teams in the end. But the distance between the two teams seemed greater as the Tigers let 20 shots fly on Saturday with 10 of them being on goal.

Sekou Kromah and Kotaro Hirokawa scored the two goals for the Tigers. Kromah put the Tigers in the lead in the 12th minute of play as he found the back of the net from inside the box after a lateral cross by Kazuki Kimura. Despite the multitude of shots, it wasn't until the 75th minute that the Tigers got an insurance goal from Hirokawa on a direct free kick.

The NJCAA DI Preseason #2 ranked Tigers moved to 3-0 with the win and will wait until Friday, September 6 before they're back on the pitch for a showdown with Illinois Central.
