MCC soccer with a win on sophomore day

The Marshalltown Community College soccer team hosted Hawkeye Community College on their final regular season home game on Saturday, Oct. 19. The Tigers came away with a 6-1 victory.

Prior to the game, the Tigers honored their eleven sophomores, presenting them with a framed letter M plaque in recognition of their effort to improve the MCC soccer program. 

Jiroh Hatano scored two goals in the Tigers 6-1 win. Guilherme Pereira, Yushi NagaoSeiya Zen and Kenlove Solon each scored one goal. Cesar Mont and Nagao each had two assists. Matheus Pereira and Zen also provided one assist each. 

The victory over Hawkeye secured the 4thseed in the tournament, which will start next Sunday at home at 2 pm against the 5thseed. Before the tournament starts, the Tigers will finish their regular season with a non-conference match against Graceland JV on Tuesday, Oct. 22.
