Sieck's hot hand leads MCC over Little Priest Tribal College

Marshalltown, IA—Kaleigh Sieck (Toledo, IA/South Tama) led an offensive outbreak for the Marshalltown Community College women's basketball team, scoring a career-high 22 points to pace the Tigers to a 95-51 victory over Little Priest Tribal College at the Student Activity Center Tuesday night.

After missing her first three shots from beyond the arc to start the first half, Sieck found her shooting touch, draining four consecutive shots from three-point range. The sophomore finished the night 8-14 from the floor, and 6-12 from three. Four of the five starters reached double-figures with Sieck as Jasmin Howe (Millicent, Australia, Millicent) scored 14 points, Jamerka Martin (Milwaukee, WI/Rufus King) added 12, Jaden Davenport (Meskwaki, IA/Meskwaki) chipped in 12, and JeAnn Hiraldo (Ames, IA/Ames) finished with 10.

Hiraldo finished the night with 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. Courtney Williams-Perry (Milwaukee, WI/Bradley Tech) also grabbed 10 rebounds in just 11 minutes of action. The Tigers dominated the glass from start to finish with a 62-32 edge.

Little Priest Tribal College, the newest member to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) kept pace with the Tigers early on. A three-point shot from the Warriors brought the game within three, 17-14, eight minutes in.

Sieck entered the game and sparked the offense with her first three-point shot to start a 27-3 run to put the game out of reach in the first half. The Tigers went into halftime leading 50-24.

Sieck drained another three-point shot early on in the second half to give the Tigers their biggest lead of the night, 61-31. The sophomore continued to shoot the lights out to put MCC up 83-43 with her final trey of the night with just over five minutes remaining.

The Tigers will welcome a 10-day break after playing three games in five days. Next up for MCC is the Emerson JUCO Classic at the Student Activity Center on Nov. 21-22.
